Welcome to the San Diego Stingrays (formerly Cygnets), a co-ed, straight friendly water polo team based in beautiful San Diego. We practice many Saturday mornings, year round in an outdoor pool. Come and join us for practice! Even if you haven't played before, are looking to get back into the sport after being away, or are a very experienced college star. Your first practice is free! AnnouncementsAt this time, the team has decided that there is not enough of a "critical mass" to support our regular weekly practice schedule. Until we are able to establish enough interest/money to support a weekly workout with our own pool and coaches, we have decided to work on some alternative ideas.
Miramar College Miramar College has co-ed water polo courses... A few of us signed up for a course that started in January and went until May for two-days a week. We had a great time! Another class begins in July for the Summer Session:

What's next? We will be continually evaluating how to keep the Stingrays going! We know that there are people in San Diego interested in playing water polo and we'd like to figure out a way to practice and scrimmage together with all levels. In the long run, we'd also like to compete together in competitions.
Other long term goals are to start up practices with a coach, but for now we need to gather enough interest and support to get this going again. Cathy and Christina - thank you for all your hard work starting up the team again and we wish you the best with your move!
